Wondering where to go for a nice roast this Sunday? Search no longer! Come to East London, work up some appetite walking around Victoria Park, and then go to the Morgan Arms. Not only does this pub look beautiful from the outside, the food they serve inside is good too. In fact, I’m pretty confident when I say they’ve got the best roast I’ve had in London so far – and I’ve had my fair share of Sunday roasts! Think crispy potatoes, a very good Yorkshire pudding and a tasty piece of perfectly cooked meat.
A few practical tips if you decide to head East and give it a try. As with many other good things in London you might want to book in advance, because the Morgan Arms does tend to get busy on Sundays. Not to worry if you’re more of an in-the-spur-of-the-moment kind of person though, they also do walk-ins.
If you don’t have a reservation, you’re probably best to either go early – or late in the afternoon – so you can still get a table without too much of a wait. Last time I went, we got there around 2.30pm and after about 10 mins we had a table, so it wasn’t bad at all. And even if you do have to wait a little, there is a cool selection of board games: the perfect way to kill time!
